Feeling sentimental these days about MCR. This is from when I saw them in a gross bar on the south side in 2003. The lineup was: Story of the Year, MCR, The Used and Thrice. Highlights included: people throwing quarters during the MCR set and Gerard inviting them to meet him in the parking lot after the show, and a plug from Gerard for a suicide hotline, with a “don’t fucking do it” for good measure, a sentiment which - as I sincerely and genuinely reported to my LiveJournal, which I just found and read - I was extremely touched by. Apparently I thanked him for it after the show, when I got this autograph.
Anyway that bar stopped having shows and turned into a fight club for awhile (???) and now I think it is an empty shell, the end.
